This research project was jointly developed by China Railway Electrification Company and the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Field testing and results verification were completed on the Changtai Expressway. After more than three years of unremitting efforts, the robot now has a solid foundation for widespread practical application and industrial development.

 

The unmanned intelligent surveying and marking robot is specifically designed for highway marking construction, possessing the capability for large-scale marking operations. It is an innovative piece of equipment in the field of automated highway marking.

 

It integrates satellite positioning measurement and setting out, information acquisition and processing operating systems, and is equipped with a cloud-based remote management platform, realizing fully automated and intelligent operation of traffic marking construction. Technically, this research project integrates core elements such as BeiDou high-precision positioning, intelligent path planning, and a fully automatic control system, ensuring that the accuracy of marking construction is less than 2.5 centimeters, thereby ensuring high stability of marking quality.

 

The promotion and application of this research project has a significant role in solving the three major challenges of "long mileage, strict environmental protection, and tight schedule" in highway project construction. Against the backdrop of "Made in China 2025" leading the transformation of demand structure in traditional industries and driving industrial technology upgrades, the unmanned intelligent surveying and marking robot, as an innovative product in a niche field of the construction industry, heralds a new era of intelligent highway marking construction.
